Dry ice creates a white, misty effect in and around a cocktail. To use dry ice in a cocktail you have to use a tong, as touching dry ice with bare hands gives injuries similar to burn wounds. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide and has a surface temperature of -78.5 degrees Celsius which equals -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit.
