- 1 piece Lemon
The “Lemmy” cocktail is a tribute to Lemmy Kilmister the singer and founder of rock band Motörhead, who died 28 December 2015. His favorite drink was a Jack & Coke.
Before playing with Motörhead he had some small semi successes with Hawkwind. In 1975 Motörhead was formed. Lemmy played base guitar and also did the vocals. Their most famous song was “Ace of Spades”. Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper and Metallica repeatedly stated being influenced by Lemmy and saw him as an example.
Lemmy collected German military regalia. He had an Iron Cross encrusted on his bass, which led to accusations of Nazi sympathies. He explained that he only collected the memorabilia because he liked the way they looked.
Put the whiskey (preferably Jack Daniels) and the coke in a ice filled shaker and add some dashes of bitters. Shake and strain into your Lemmy drink a whiskey glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.
Some other rock legends who have a cocktail in their honor are: Kurt Cobain, Joe Cocker and Prince.
